Paul and I had a few child free moments last night while running some errands, so we decided to stop for a minute at Ronnie’s to grab a couple of burgers. While he went to the counter to get our order, because he’s awesome like that, I opened facebook and started reading a message from a friend. It was unexpected, devestating news, and by the time Paul returned, I was sobbing. As I sat crying into my tatertot basket, little old ladies were throwing Paul sideways glances because surely, he must have said something to upset his poor little wife so terribly. I read the email to him, and we sat trying to make sense of it all.
And it all boiled down to one burning question, “How does a good God who loves us, allow these things to happen?” My human brain just doesn’t understand. I found this video on a friend’s fb page a while back, and continuously return to it.
During my Bible study this morning, Psalm 118:28-29 jumped off the page. “You are my God, and I will thank you; you are my God and I will praise your greatness. Thank the Lord because He is good. His love continues forever.” Let Him hold you close friends, let Him show up! Because He will, time and time again…
